After completion of the course, the successful ap­plicant should be thoroughly familiar with the basic aviation security principles. The training provides information, which ensures crewmembers to act in the most appropriate manner to to prevent acts of unlawful interference or to minimize the consequences of acts of unlawful interference.

 

Training consists of:

  • Previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats individual responsibilities

  • Legal framework for aviation security 

  • Objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities 

  • Aeroplane search procedures and guidance on least-risk bomb locations

  • Flight crew compartment procedures to protect the aeroplane

  • Understanding of behaviour of terrorists so as to facilitate the ability of crew members to cope with hijacker behaviour

  • Access control procedures 

  • Identification card systems used at the airport 

  • Ability to respond appropriately to security related incidents 

  • Reporting procedures

  • Human behaviour and responses
